This time the song is a very short children’s round. I think it captures the idea of coming to terms with what happens to people’s bodies after they die - as early humans were beginning to do.
Obviously they wouldn’t have had a song like this - using verbal language, imagination, mock fear and humour. And the adults would have been still trying to overcome their own fear, not yet ready to make it into a game for their children.
